CILTM CONVOCATION 2009
The 7th CILTM Convocation was held at the Intekma Resort and Convention Centre, Shah Alam on 18 July 2009. The Guest of Honour was the UiTM Vice-Chancellor YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Professor Dr. Ibrahim Bin Abu Shah. The occasion was also graced with the presence of CILT International President and the CILT International Director General. Altogether 57 students graduated, 54 from PQE (Logistics) and 3 from PQE (Transport). Over and above, those who fulfilled the requirements of Chartered Membership from among them also received their Chartered Membership scrolls. The convocation was officiated by the UiTM Vice-Chancellor.
CILTM HALF-DAY SEMINAR:
Following the Convocation, a half-day Seminar was conducted by CILTM under the topic: “INTERNATIONAL SUPPLY CHAIN IN THE ERA OF GLOBALIZATION - Future Directions for the Transport and Logistics Industry”. The main speakers were CILT International President and CILT International Director General and Dr. Muhammad Zaly Shah, the Assistant Secretary of CILTM was the Chairman of the Session. The participants gained invaluable insights on the future directions of the transport and logistics industries in the era of globalization.
SIGNING CEREMONY: Memorandum of Understanding between CILT Malaysia, CILT International and Universiti Technologi MARA (UiTM)
The Memorandum of Understanding between CILT Malaysia, CILT International and UiTM was signed soon after. The text of Memorandum of Understanding remained the same. Only the period of validity was extended for period 2009 until 2016 (5+2years).
Accreditation Audit Visit to Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM)
The Academic Recognition Audit was conducted on Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM)’s Bachelor of Business Administration (Logistics and Transportation) in line with the requirement spelt in the CILTM’s Academic Recognition Guideline. The audit was conducted at UUM’s Sintok, Kedah campus from 9 to 10 February 2010. Attending the audit on behalf of CILTM were Mr. Azlan Abdul Jalil (Acting Secretary General), Dr. Muhammad Zaly Shah (Assistant Secretary), Mr. Chang Kah Loon (Chairman, Penang Section) and Mrs. Sharifah Salwa Bt Abu Bakar (CILTM Administration Manager). The team from UUM was led by Capt. Mustakim Melan together with his dedicated colleagues.
